Short biography

50 words

Dr. Jimmy J. Godard has spent more than twenty-five years inspiring teams and helping organizations navigate disruption, beginning as a peak-time bank teller and rising to senior vice president of a Fortune 100 financial institution. That trajectory is why his sessions land with both front-line business, project managers and the executives who fund them: he has held both roles.
He holds a Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership with a specialization in Information Systems and Technology, an MBA, and the CB-PMO® and PMP credentials. He teaches project management, leadership, and business at Portland State University, George Fox University, and the American College of Healthcare Sciences, and serves as Director of Programs for tahe Society for Information Management.
Through Train-the-Trainer cohorts delivered with PMO Global Institute, Dr. Godard has certified practitioners across twelve countries and four continents. Each year he leads medical and service projects in Cambodia, Haiti, Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
He is a Certified Career Coach, and every engagement begins with the same question he asks of himself: why do you lead?

What happens between signature and stage

Eight steps, every engagement. This is the preparation that makes the session specific to your audience rather than generic.

01

Initial conversation

A call to establish the outcomes you need from the session, not just the topic you have in mind.

02

Refine the topic to the theme

The session is shaped to fit your programme's wider narrative rather than dropped into it.

03

Collaborate with other speakers

Direct coordination so messages complement and reinforce rather than overlap or contradict.

04

Research the audience

Interviews with expected participants to surface the specific issues and challenges in the room.

05

Customization and design

The presentation is built for your audience. No session is delivered twice identically.

06

Coordinator pack

Your event coordinator receives the short bio, photography, session description and A/V requirements in one place.

07

Custom handouts

Where useful, originals are created and supplied to your coordinator for reproduction.

08

Final A/V and sound check

Technical check and confirmation of timing before the event begins.
